I Rage sono un gruppo heavy metal tedesco fondato nel 1983 dall'attuale leader della band Peter "Peavy" Wagner.Nata nel 1983 col nome Avenger, la formazione ha subito svariate modifiche nel corso degli anni, ciò ha contribuito al continuo cambiamento e rinnovamento dello stile della band. Album dopo album la band ha raffinato e personalizzato le sonorità, partendo dal primo vero successo Perfect Man, che proponeva uno speed power metal con forti influenze thrash metal, evolvendosi poi con inserti più melodici, e abbandonando la pura velocità, ma non la caratteristica potenza e pesantezza del suono.La lunga carriera di questa band, che da sempre è simboleggiata dal leader Peter Wagner, è contraddistinta da varie fasi in cui line-up più o meno stabili hanno influenzato anche il suono e lo stile di metal suonato.
