Primal Scream Biografia

I Primal Scream sono una band rock (ma tale definizione è insufficiente e riduttiva: il gruppo nella sua carriera ha esplorato diversi generi quali il dub, il jangle pop, l'acid, il krautrock, l'hard rock, il country, il free-form jazz, il rock'n'roll, il funky, il soul &c.) originaria di Glasgow, in Scozia, formatasi nel 1982.Frontman dei Primal Scream è Bobby Gillespie, figlio di un militante socialista scozzese (il socialismo è presente nei testi e nelle intenzioni del gruppo). La line up originale comprendeva, oltre al già citato Gillespie, il chitarrista Jim Beattie, futuro fondatore degli Spirea X. Mente e "genio" del gruppo è invece Andrew Innes, talentuoso chitarrista che ha militato nei primi anni '80 nei Laughing Apple (assieme ad Alan McGee) e nei Revolving Paint Dream.Negli anni il ruolo di secondo chitarrista è stato occupato in pianta stabile da Robert "Throb" Young, uscito definitivamente durante le registrazioni dell'ultimo disco Riot City Blues per ragioni non uf
