Harry Nilsson Biografia
Artista discontinuo ma geniale, deve gran parte del suo successo ai Beatles, che in un'intervista rilasciata quando lui non aveva ancora raggiunto la grande notorietà , dichiararono di essere suoi fans. Da qui nasce l'interesse della critica, e di conseguenza del pubblico, per i suoi lavori.Pur eseguendo prevalentemente brani di sua composizione, i due successi che lo fanno conoscere al grande pubblico sono composti da altri. Il primo, del 1969, è Everybody's Talkin', di Fred Neil, inserita nella colonna sonora di Un uomo da marciapiede, il secondo è la cover di un brano dei Badfinger, intitolato Without You (1970), che conoscerà un discreto successo anche in Italia con le versioni di Johnny Dorelli e dei Gens (Per chi) e che verrà più recentemente ripreso da Mariah Carey.Altro esempio, recentemente ripreso per uno spot pubblicitario, è Over the rainbow, celebre evergreen riadattato in versione reggae e mescolato con What a wonderful world.Discografia
