Free Biografia

Il termine free identifica un sovragenere musicale caratterizzato da uno stile "libero" da generi e schemi predefiniti.Usuale è l'innesto di grande sperimentazione e libertà stilistica, spesso di carattere avanguardistico in opposizione a tutto quanto non è "free" bensì precostituito, preordinato, predefinito.Un'altra maniera di riferirsi a questo genere o stile è "free-form".Sottogenere (ma la definizione è impropria, in quanto il free non è propriamente un genere) è ad esempio il free-jazz.
