È famoso per essere il chitarrista del gruppo hard rock dei Whitesnake a partire dal 2003, oltre ad aver suonato in alcuni album di Ronnie James Dio. Ha inoltre realizzato tre album come solista, tre album con i Lion, cinque con i Bad Moon Rising, uno con gli Hurricane, uno con gli House of Lords e due con i Burning Rain.
