Don Mclean Biografia

Donald McLean (2 ottobre 1945, New Rochelle, New York) è un cantautore americano, principalmente conosciuto per la sua celebre canzone American Pie, considerata uno dei capolavori della musica leggera statunitense (il brano é stato rilanciato nel 2000 da Madonna). In Italia ha avuto un breve periodo di notorietà nel 1973 con il brano Vincent, ispirato alla vita ed all'opera di Van Gogh, che venne utilizzato come sigla del seguitissimo giallo televisivo "Lungo il fiume e sull'acqua". Vita personale Don McLean fu profondamente scosso dalla morte di Buddy Holly e John F. Kennedy. McLean si laureò alla Iona Preparatory School nel 1963, ma abbandonò la Villanova University dopo soli quattro mesi. Più tardi frequentò la scuola serale all'Iona College e ricevette la laurea in Business Administration nel 1968. Nei campus universitario era un celebre cantante folk.
