Devin Garrett Townsend, soprannominato Hevy Devy, è un cantante, polistrumentista e produttore canadese. Biografia Nasce il 5 maggio 1972 a Vancouver, Canada. È una persona dalle ampie vedute musicali, essendo appassionato di heavy metal, jazz, blues, progressive rock e, soprattutto, musica elettronica, genere avvertibile nei suoi innumerevoli progetti. La sua band più famosa è quella degli Strapping Young Lad, dedita ad un Industrial Metal miscelato con Death e Thrash Metal, che sta riscuotendo un grande successo a livello mondiale.Devin ha creato tante altri progetti come gli Ocean Machine, Punky Brüster e ha avviato una carriera solista. Egli è anche un produttore discografico e ha fondato la sua etichetta chiamata Hevy Devy Records. Ha prodotto dischi di noti gruppi metal come Lamb of God, Soilwork, Darkest Hour e Stuck Mojo.
