America Biografia

Gli America sono un gruppo musicale anglo-americano caratterizzato da un rock leggero e vicino al sound della West Coast, molto popolari agli inizi degli anni '70 e degli anni '80 soprattutto per alcuni successi quali "A Horse With No Name" ,"Sister Golden Hair" e "You Can Do Magic".I membri sono: Gerry Beckley (nato il 12 settembre 1952 a Fort Worth, Texas) Dewey Bunnell (nato il 19 gennaio 1951 a Harrogate, Yorkshire, Inghilterra) Dan Peek (nato il 1 novembre 1950 a Panama City, Florida) Figli di padri americani e madri britanniche, e i padri facenti parte di personale militare di stanza nella base USAF londinese di West Ruislip, Regno Unito, i tre futuri "America" si incontrarono a Londra a metà degli anni '60, dove studiavano alla "London Central High School" di Bushey e militavano in due diverse band della scuola stessa.In seguito, i tre decisero di formare un complesso rock dal nome "America", che riecheggiava in loro il ricordo della madre patria a malapena conosciuta
